::Who We Are::

Plugged Art Collective is testament that small people can make big things happen. Founded in 2004, Plugged was built upon the desire to support, promote, and exhibit art that is free, stimulating, and unsettling. Why? Exactly.

Our mission as a group is to provide communities (inside and outside cyber space) with humorous, thought-provoking and boundary-crossing artwork.

Currently our main project is Her Shorts: Intl Women’s Video Festival. In a time where public space has become exceedingly more corporate and individual voices get easily drown out by mass media conglomerates, contemporary women’s video lacks sufficient visibility. In response, the collective founded an annual international women’s video festival with the intent of not only creating a venue for contemporary women video artists to screen their work, but also as a means to give the public the opportunity to see the wide variety of work being produced by independent women videographers.

As the Collective grows we will be developing additional experimental events and opportunities for both men and women, such as our 2007 PerformIT Festival. Stay tuned!

Thank you for supporting the arts, without you there would be no point.
